About the Team
Presented by pro indoor soccer club Empire Strykers, Soccer in 60 airs weekly on Southern California’s FOX Sports 1270AM and KMET 1490AM. The show, which features contributors from the area's best local footy podcasts as well as elite soccer journalists, is unique in covering all five of the major professional teams in Greater Los Angeles. Tune in to stay up to date on MLS rivals LAFC and LA Galaxy, the MASL’s Strykers, NWSL outfit Angel City FC, and Orange County SC of the USL Championship. Whether you’re listening in LA County, the OC, Ventura County, the IE (Inland Empire), or anywhere else around the world, Soccer in 60 will keep you entertained with fascinating conversations and high-profile guests such as national team stars, head coaches, and club officials. Gunnar Berndt
Si60 Creative Director Gunnar Berndt has worked for teams in the Bundesliga, NWSL, MASL and USL Championship. In addition to handling communications for pro indoor club Empire Strykers, he currently serves as English-Language Content & Localization Consultant with Borussia Dortmund of his native Germany. Gunnar’s other favorite club since childhood is local rival VfL Bochum. He hopes neither team’s supporters will tar and feather him for being a double agent.
JR Lebert
Soccer In 60 host J.R. Lebert has covered soccer in Southern California since 2018. A fully accredited CONCACAF media member, he has covered everything from regular-season matches to finals for MLS, NWSL, MASL, USL Championship, USL League One, the CONCACAF Champions Cup, U.S. Open Cup, and even the occasional CIF high school match! He also co-hosts the LAFC-centric weekly podcast, Defenders of the Banc, with his partner, Christian “Filly” Filimon.
Christian "Filly" Filmon
Christian “Filly” Filimon is a veteran play-by-play broadcaster and sports media personality with experience covering soccer, basketball, baseball, and major sporting events across the U.S. He has called games for ESPN+, FOX Sports, CBS Sports Golazo Network, the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL), The Soccer Tournament (TST), The Basketball Tournament (TBT), UC Riverside Athletics and the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL). Throughout his career, Filly has interviewed professional athletes, coaches and executives. Among the podcasts he co-hosts is Defenders of the Banc, a leading independent show covering LAFC.
Tim Kolacz
Co-Host Tim Kolacz is an advocate for growing the sport of soccer across the nation. Having played soccer since a youth, he also Refereed at high levels as an adult, including the Opening game at The Great Park in Irvine, U22 Women, State Cup of California, and Finals matches in Club leagues across Southern California. Tim is involved with his community as well with events like Love Placentia and assorted other charity work. He is the founding member of Si60 and enjoys triathlon when not enjoying soccer.
Kara Lang Romero
Kara Lang Romero is a former Canada international, a Hall of Fame inductee and a soccer broadcaster. A two-time FIFA Women’s World Cup participant and Olympian, she earned 92 caps for her country and made history as the youngest player ever to represent Canada at the senior level. Since the conclusion of her playing career, Kara has covered FIFA World Cups, the Olympics, MLS and CONCACAF competitions as an analyst and a reporter for TSN, Sportsnet and FOX. These days, she covers LAFC, the LA Galaxy, Angel City and the World Cup for CBS LA and Soccer in 60, while raising her young family by the beach.
Ananda Kirana
Ananda Kirana is the co-host and executive producer of La Cuna Galaxiana, a Los Angeles based soccer podcast covering the 6-time MLS Cup Champion LA Galaxy. Ananda is a lifelong Galaxy fan turned media member, receiving accreditation two seasons after the podcast's inception in 2023. Ananda has also been featured on the GolzTV Network, as well as the DR Sports Network with Robbie Lyle (aka "Don Robbie"), the podfather of soccer fan channels, during the 2022 World Cup. In his spare time, he also coaches youth soccer and recently coached at a local Southern California soccer camp hosted by 3X FIFA Ballon D'or Winner, Aitana Bonmati. He also loves hanging out in Laguna Beach on the weekends, eating fish tacos with his wife and running on the beach with his dog.
Rob Jalón
Rob Jalón is an award-winning journalist based in Los Angeles and co-host/co-creator of La Cuna Galaxiana Podcast. His first word was goal, and his love for soccer and sports runs extremely deep. It has taken a Latino kid from watching the 2014 World Cup, to covering El Tráfico, Copa América, MLS Cup, the Club World Cup, and everything in between. He is a native Angeleno, and now gets to cover the six-time MLS Cup Champion Los Angeles Galaxy daily. He hopes to grow soccer in Los Angeles and become a trusted source of sports news in the city.
